Between Borders

The Pyrenees

1,200 kilometers to go. Straight ahead. No detours, no sightseeing whims, no “hey, that lookout point looks nice.” Just eating, bathroom breaks, refueling. Well, mostly just that. The eating part got a little out of hand, thanks to Thorsten, whom I’d unofficially crowned our Feel-Good Manager. He had packed so much gourmet-level food that any lunch-box mom would’ve quietly closed her Tupperware in defeat. So well supplied that we basically ate nonstop, even while driving. I somehow became the designated distributor of whatever snack or drink was needed at any moment. Suddenly, I was both photographer and onboard catering crew. Luckily, we had intercoms. They didn’t just streamline the logistics of our rolling meat-delivery system; they also turned the 1,200 kilometers into something that felt more like a fun, slightly chaotic podcast episode.

Striking it lucky

Luftgekühlt lands east

Luftgekühlt’s East Coast debut has been a long time coming. Durham, North Carolina, was originally scheduled for 2020, but the pandemic put the brakes on. The air-cooled faithful on the right coast had to wait their turn. Fast forward a few years, and the unmistakable sound of flat-sixes finally echoed through Durham, leading the way to the old brick walls of the former Lucky Strike cigarette factory.

Luften Er for Alle

In Norway, there’s a simple saying: “luften er for alle” — the air is for everyone. It’s a reminder that the mountains, the open road, and the quiet spaces in between belong to all of us. The phrase reflects a core part of Norwegian culture, especially the tradition of allemannsretten (the right to roam), which gives everyone the freedom to access nature openly and respectfully.

Global Reunion

60 years of the Porsche 912

Thursday gave us time to breathe. No schedule, no pressure. Just driving through the countryside, exploring small villages, getting lost on purpose. We flew the drone over hilltops to shoot some rollers, but the best moments were simply the quiet ones—sharing stories, laughing about old road trip memories, and realizing how rare it is to have time like this with good people.

Thursday evening was the first big gathering: nearly 30 Porsche 912s from Germany, France, and Spain lined up in Gordes. But the cars were just icebreakers—the real magic was the mix of personalities. Strangers who felt like friends within minutes, everyone united by the same love for these old machines. We drove together to an old villa for pizza and an outdoor cinema, watching films surrounded by 912s under the warm Provence night. It felt intimate, nostalgic, almost surreal.

Porsche from another world

Tatsuya Yokosaka

Born in 1981 in Gunma, Japan, Tatsuya Yokosaka is a Tokyo-based contemporary artist whose work blends the aesthetics of traditional cel animation with the emotional depth of painted, real-world environments. Drawing on personal memories and the visual language of classic hand-drawn animation, he creates multi-layered compositions in which transparent, film-like illustrations interact with richly painted backgrounds. This unique hybrid technique gives his paintings a cinematic atmosphere, as if each scene were captured in the midst of motion.

The road connects us all

Porsche Gipfeltreffen 2025 from an insight perspective

So, I just got back from the Porsche Gipfeltreffen 2025, and… man, what a week! Three days of driving, talking, laughing, and just feeling the road through some of the most beautiful mountains on Earth. Let me tell you about it.
